LivON was selected as this quarter’s winner for a $5,000 donation from One Hour Heating and Cooling (https://www.onehourcares.com/). LivON is currently supporting 7 patients and this donation will make a significant impact in their financial burden from treatment, time off of work, and travel. Thank you again One Hour Heating and Cooling!

Staying active is one of the most difficult things we face in our daily lives. Many things can squash our motivation, but in the end…aren’t you worth it? Olivia would say- YES!
Making time to be active is like making time to eat, to be with your family, or watch your favorite show (and yes, you can workout while you watch that show). But still, many factors can inhibit your routine, and let’s face it, it’s easier to get OUT of a routine than to get into one. But here are some helpful tips to keep you motivated.
#1 DO IT FOR YOU. Dedication to caring for yourself, so that you can be there for others is by far the best reason. Are you trying to loose weight? Increase your stamina? Build strength? The great thing is, when you do this, you are also reducing your risk of diseases such as Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and various cancers, including Colon Cancer.
#2 YOU DON’T HAVE TO GO TO THE GYM! The world is your oyster. You can walk, play freeze-tag with your kids, clean the house, dance in your pajamas, or play with your dog. You can even download apps on your phone for intervals, weight training, and cardio!
#3 GET YOUR FAMILY OR FRIENDS INVOLVED. Getting the family involved is a great key to success as you can depend on each other to pick you up when you feel sluggish! Join a race as a team, clean up a the neighborhood, or simply go on a walk together. You can find local races and walks in your area at active.com.
#4 DON’T GIVE UP. We all face times when the world gets us down, or the meeting went long, or the kids are sick. Just because you miss a day, or a week, or a month, doesn’t mean that you can’t do it. Keep Moving Forward and LivON!
Most importantly, remember that you have the right do this for you!
Your support allowed us to educate thousands through the magazine. Read the story by clicking here: Coastal Virginia Magazine.
Thank you again for all you do to support LivON!
In 2015 a report was published about the trends of Colon Cancer. The study found three areas in the U.S. that saw an increase in Colon Cancer death rates, while the rest of the country is on a decline. Specifically, southeastern Virginia was 9% higher than other areas. This is why LivON continues to work to educate and most importantly, provide financial support to those 50 and younger battling Colon Cancer in Hampton Roads.

The LivON Foundation would like to give a huge thank you to the many wonderful businesses and friends who helped make the 3rd Annual LivON Golf Tournament a success. We are working hard to carry on Liv’s mission and we have donated to more than 5 families in Hampton Roads in 2015 alone! Thank you for your kind support!

We had a great turn out for our workout and party for LivON. We celebrated the birthday of a LivON team member, Donna Daniels, who is a colon cancer survivor. She was generous enough to ask her friends and LivON supporters to make her birthday about awareness and fundraising for LivON! We had 50 people attend the workout at Wareing’s Gym and plenty more join the party at Croc’s 19th Street Bistro. We raised $2,500 for financial support! If you know someone battling Colon Cancer, is under 50 (or diagnosed under 50) and lives in Hampton Roads, we want to help!

Olivia Naples Bostic received an incredible honor today from the Administrators, Operating Room staff, and Doctors of Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital (VBGH). The operating room 11, the room where Liv mainly worked with her doctors from Virginia Institute for Sports Medicine (VISM), was dedicated to her. It was an amazing experience to see where she worked and the Naples, Jones, and Bostic Families would like to thank everyone from VISM and VBGH for all the support these past two years. Liv loved being a PA and working in the OR at VBGH. She would always do what she could to help and teach others around her; now she will always have her room to look after. LivON!
