LivON reached out to almost 6,000 runners at the Anthem Wicked 10K in Virginia Beach on Friday, October 24th. We celebrated Olivia’s birthday by spreading the word on Colon health. Thanks so much wonderful support this year we were able to make the booth something truly special! Guests to the booth played a game of “Fact for Fiction” on our prize wheel. The adults loved spinning almost as much as they did running the race in their costumes! And everyone walked away with a small prize and bookmark with the symptoms of colon cancer. Know the Symptoms! Thank you for your continued support to help us make events like this so wonderful.
The 2nd Annual LivON Charity Golf Tournament was a wonderful success, yet again! We want to thank all those who supported the event. Thank you to our sponsors for your generous support, to the players for taking time out of your busy schedules, to the raffle and silent auction donors who helped so many people walk away with something special, and to all of the wonderful volunteers for your time and energy.
This year we increased the awareness of Colon Cancer facts with the support of local Gastroenterology Ltd. Erin from Gastroenterology Ltd. provided the players with a little Colon Cancer trivia! We also want to thank our very special speaker and Colon Cancer SURVIVOR, Donna Daniels. Donna spoke to the heart of our mission, Know the Symptoms of Colon Cancer and DON’T IGNORE THEM! She continued to bug her doctor when things just didn’t seem right! Don’t be afraid to talk to your doctor!
The money we raised from the 2nd Annual LivON Golf Tournament will help us for the next year. We will join local fitness events and expos such as the Wicked 10K. We will work with various venues and other local Colon Cancer groups in March to spread the word during COLON CANCER AWARENESS MONTH.
Thank you for your continued support for this important mission.
Thank you “Be Seen Get Screened”… great info on Colon Cancer…Take 2 minutes to learn! Colon Cancer is “highly preventable.” Don’t be afraid to talk to your doctor AND KNOW THE SYMPTOMS!
Please take time to watch the video of Olivia. Dave made this for her after her passing. Olivia was more than a sister to me, more than a friend to others. When you feel like giving up, just remember that you now have an angel on your side. LT
Our hearts are filled with sadness. On July 30th, 2014 God decided it was time for Olivia Naples Bostic (Liv) to join him in Heaven.
I (David, husband) only knew Olivia for eight years, some had known her longer and some less, but to have known her is to know she was an incredible person. Some of you knew her as a coworker, some from being her patient and others knew her as a friend.
Her co-workers knew she always brought her “A” game and you better keep up. Olivia believed that you always give your best and expect everyone to do the same. She was always prepared for the task at hand but could adapt to the challenges that arose. Olivia brought out the best in those who worked around her. She would jump at the chance to help out if it made another’s life easier; taking call, rounds or staying as long as it took to get the job completed.
Her patients knew her as a caring, thoughtful and devoted person. She always spent extra time, answering all questions, spent many hours on the phone easing the tension of an upcoming surgery or to help after and always with a smile.
Her friends knew her as a person that loved life and all that it brought. She made you want to be a better person; she is a life changer. The love and concern she had for others was enormous. She knew how to brighten a room with her smile and laughter. Her positive outlook on life and all that it offered was infectious.
If you knew Liv as a friend, coworker or a patient; then you were a better person because of it.
Olivia fought an incredible battle against a terrible disease. She fought with courage, grace, class, wit, and with the thought of how she could help others along the way. Liv never asked why, but what can I do to make it better for others.
To know Olivia is to know that she is a very special, incredible person.
God be with you and rest in peace Olivia! You will always LivON in our hearts and our thoughts.

Our mission is to educate and promote awareness and early detection of Colon Cancer for those under fifty years of age. Many individuals under age fifty go undiagnosed because symptoms are unnoticed, embarrassing to discuss with the primary care physician, or are explained away for a person with no history of Colon Cancer. As a result, we at the LivON Foundation are working to increase awareness for symptoms and prevention of Colon Cancer in those under fifty. In addition, we work to financially support individuals and families affected by Colon Cancer.
Thank you to those who came out to support the LivON Foundation with a tush-busting workout at Wareing’s Gym.
One of the most important steps in preventing colon cancer is physical fitness! So get out there and get moving! Talk to your doctor about a healthy program that works for you!
